"PETS" International competition of animal art

1. THE PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION

The International Competition of Animal Art "PETS" was established by the World Foundation for the Arts, with the support of the Eurasian Art Union, in order to promote the art of watercolor around the world, opening up a wide view of several interpretations of this painting technique beyond any geographical boundary. The project is aimed at promoting humanistic ideas in the field of animal welfare, distributing animal-oriented works and exchanging cultures among authors of all nationalities in order to help talented people gain new perspectives and additional opportunities.

2. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Artists of any nationality and from any country are eligible to participate in the competition, except:
- employees of the World Foundation for the Arts;
- members of the jury (can participate only in the exhibition part of the project, without competition);
- the next of kin of the jury members;
All authors have equal rights, regardless of nationality and country of residence.
Authors whose age is under 16 years old participate in the exhibition in a separate block (section "Juniors").

3. THEME, TECHNIQUE, LIMITATIONS
The topic of the competition is free, the submitted works can be written by any available means.
4. EXPERT COUNCIL (JURY)
The competition works are evaluated by recognized masters and experts of the world of animal art. The Expert Council consists of the following professional groups: leaders of international communities of animal artists, well-known and successful animal artists, winners of art competitions, as well as art historians, gallery owners and curators. The Expert Council includes an assessment both in the exposition (in-person jury) and in electronic form (correspondence jury). The jury evaluates the works according to a 10-point system. The scores are summed up and the average arithmetic score is determined.

5. EVALUATION CRITERIA:
a) The originality of the creative idea;
b) Compositional integrity, color and tonal solution;
d) Technical skills and performance skills;
The three specified criteria will be determined by one final score.

6. REQUIREMENTS FOR ART
The entries admitted to the competition must comply with the following requirements:
6.1. The entries must be original. Your art should be your own original concept, not a copy of someone else's copyrighted material. When submitting your work to the competition, the applicant is solely responsible for any copyright infringement of the materials.
6.2. Works may have author's signatures or any other identification mark of authorship anywhere in the photo image. Subsequently, the contest images are published with the author's distinctive signs. Inscriptions with the names of art objects on the front side are not allowed.
6.3. The contest entries must be presented as real paintings, without filters and retouching, and they must reflect the real nature of the painting itself. Paintings should contain only and exclusively images of works of art, without backgrounds external to the works of art themselves.
6.4 All works at the first stage must be submitted electronically, photographs of the works must not contain frames and glasses. Image quality: Acceptable file formats: jpg, gif and png. , in high resolution and in high quality (300 dpi), to ensure correct evaluation by the jury, and high-quality publication in the catalog.
6.5. The original work must have the following dimensions: they cannot exceed the maximum size on the larger side - 200 cm. The maximum size is considered to be an entire painting without a passepartout or frame.

7. COPYRIGHT
The artist retains all copyrights to his works without exception.
Non-exclusive permissions:
By participating in the International Animal Art Competition "ZOO ARTS: Kotomania & Pesomania", you grant us a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce images of your work of art in the exhibition catalog, on our website zooarts.ru , on the websites of the Eurasian Art Union, the National Association of Curators of Russia and the World Foundation for the Arts, in its mirrors and in our newsletters, as well as in the marketing of art competitions to the general public. The works of art will not be used for any other purpose other than those indicated here. All participants and winners will be displayed on the website zooarts.ru . Each publication becomes part of the publicly available historical/archival online catalog of the competition. It can be deleted later at the request of the author.
8. RESTRICTIONS:
The following works are not allowed to participate in the competition:
a) works that violate social norms accepted in the country where the competition is held;
b) political topics;
c) works that offend religious feelings and personality;
The decision of the Organizing Committee regarding the above exceptions is final and is not subject to discussion.
